Even so, Come Lord Jesus!

The title of this blog comes from Rev 22:20. When Jesus said that He was coming soon, John expectantly agreed with Him and invited Him back again. In this fast paced and worrying life, how many of us have genuinely prayed for Jesus’ return?

A Christian speaker recently shared that when he was speaking to one of the elders in a church, he had mentioned that his life was so blessed with riches that he did not want Jesus to return for a long period or wouldn’t bother if he did not return. Most of us are either consumed by the cares of this world, worries, pain and sufferings or its riches, lusts, lavishness and entertainment. Both of these are the extremes. We need to be balanced.

We are ought to eagerly expect that the Lord Jesus returns whilst continuing on our Father’s business to reach out the lost and be faithful in what He has given us. I was also once consumed by the cares of this world. Later, certain events in life made me realise that at the rate I was going, if I had not hit this sudden painful event I would have just carried on living the way I lived without repentance leading to me missing the rapture. By no means I am saying that the sudden painful event was something God caused or allowed but I learnt from the painful experience. Since then I have been seeking the Lord and who put in my heart that not many are praying for His return.

Whilst there is some good in this world, the evil is becoming more and more prevalent. We hear of wars, death, rope, abuse, AI taking over and faithlessness. How beautiful it would be if this world was restored to the Eden status? No tears, pain, sickness and sorrow (Rev 21:4) just as God intended. This is exactly the hope we have in Christ. The sooner His return the better it will be for not only believers but for the whole creation. The whole creation expects the manifestation of sins and daughters of God.

In summary, let’s be eagerly expecting the Lord Jesus Christ to come for us and His Kingdom to be established on earth as it is in heaven through rapture, millennial reign and new heaven and new earth.
